The Creative Use of Idioms and Proverbs in Novels after 1975

Abstract
So far, the researches of idioms and proverbs have the tendency to approach them as isolated units, separated from communicative contexts. With our new approach, we consider idioms and proverbs from functional perspective, including : (1) The significance of idioms and proverbs in a specific context, in combination with the purpose of the speaker, (2) The writer’s creative use in the structure of idioms and proverbs, also their new meanings.
