As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
When submitting a manuscript to Journal of Foreign Studies, the author(s) undertakes that the manuscript must be the original scientific work done by themselves; has not been submitted/published in any other journals; and will not be submitted to any other journals before the final advice is provided by Journal of Foreign Studies.
The authors comply with ethics regarding research and scientific work and take personal responsibility for the content of the manuscript, the accuracy and academic integrity of the manuscript content. Data and analysis results have to be true and have not been manipulated and/or modified.
The submission file is in Microsoft Word file format.
The text is formatted on A4 page; single-spaced; uses a Times New Roman 12-point font; and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines. All citations in the article have to be fully and properly cited. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
Author Guidelines
1. As a natural development from its predecessor VNU Journal of Science: Foreign Studies, VNU Journal of Foreign Studies continues to be an official, independent peer-reviewed publication of the University of Languages and International Studies (ULIS) under Vietnam National University (VNU). VNU Journal of Foreign Studies publishes bimonthly (2 Vietnamese and 4 English editions p.a. from 2019 onward) with research articles in linguistics, language/foreign language teaching, international studies, and related social sciences and humanities. Only manuscripts previously unpublished or under no consideration for publication elsewhere are acceptable.
2. All submissions should be typed in Vietnamese or English (at least 10 pages, i.e. approx. 4,000 words for research article and 5 pages, i.e. approx. 2,000 words for discussion article), displayed in Times New Roman font, size 12, Single spacing, printed on A4 paper, left margin 2.5cm, right margin 2.5cm, top margin 3.5cm, bottom margin 3cm.
3. References should be clarified in the main text and arranged according to the alphabetical order by author's last name in References part. References conform to APA7 standards (please refer to the website: https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines)
4. Tables, images, diagrams and charts in the article must be clear and numbered in the order in which they appear in the article. Sources and names of the images, diagrams and charts in the article must also be indicated above.
