French short stories in the 19th century: Aesthetics conception and prosody
Main Article Content
Abstract
French short stories flourished and really became an independent literary genre, had its own aesthetic principles in the 19th century. On the basis of the principles of aesthetic genres, contemporary writers had created a very specific kind of product: the nineteenth-century French short stories, which were the realistic stories, narrated by standard plots, with a clear layout and a polish and bright style. It is these qualities that made French short stories during this period classified as 'traditional', having special appeal to readers not only in the country but also all over the world.
