Hindu giáo cùng với hệ giá trị văn hóa gắn liền với Hindu giáo là nền tảng tư tưởng quan trọng chi phối lối sống của phụ nữ Ấn Độ hàng nghìn năm nay. Dựa trên lý thuyết lựa chọn duy lý, bằng phương pháp tiếp cận liên ngành và phương pháp tiếp cận hệ thống - cấu trúc, bài viết tiến hành phân tích, tổng hợp dữ liệu định tính thứ cấp từ các bài báo đăng trên tạp chí khoa học trong nước và quốc tế liên quan đến học tập, lao động sản xuất, sinh hoạt tinh thần, và ứng xử trong gia đình của phụ nữ Ấn Độ để từ đó làm nổi bật ảnh hưởng của Hindu giáo đến lối sống của phụ nữ Ấn Độ, cũng như việc Hindu giáo đã tự thân vận động và biến đổi như thế nào để đáp ứng nhu cầu phát triển của phụ nữ Ấn Độ nói riêng và toàn bộ đất nước Ấn Độ nói chung.
