Abstract

China is a country with a long history of translation. Through its process of development, translation activities have formed special characteristics with Chinese nuances. The article describes the general features of translation development through various stages, analyzes theoretical issues, introduces a number of typical translators and theoretical researchers in order to better clarify those characteristics of translation and the development of translation theory in China in both the chronological and synchronous contexts of translation in the world. We hope to contribute more documents in Chinese translation research and provide suggestions for research, development of translation theory and professional interpreter training in Vietnam.
