ECOLOGICAL SENSE IN MIKHAIL PRISHVIN’S THE PANTRY OF THE SUN
Main Article Content
Abstract
In the Russian literary flow of the twentieth century, Mikhail Prishvin (1873-1954) is dubbed the “singer of Russian nature”. With an agronomist's deep understanding of nature, Prishvin has recreated Russian nature as a living creature in his compositions. The pantry of the sun is one of the typical works of Mikhail Prishvin, the last major work in his creative career. The collection introduces an extremely vivid panorama of Russian nature with profound human values. The article approaches the work from an ecocritical perspective in order to clarify the aspects of ecological consciousness, decode the conveyed aesthetic messages, and elucidate the close relationship between nature and humans, thereby affirming the distinctive features of M. Prishvin’s style.
