In this context, our article aims to take stock of some pedagogical principles of the action-oriented approach in teaching languages that the author has synthesized from certain French documents, and at the same time, to go through the practical application of this approach in teaching French at a number of universities in Vietnam, especially the author presents in depth an experiment on applying the action-oriented approach in teaching French at Foreign Trade University where the author teaches.
